The Clubs History
AFC Fawley Falcons began its journey in 1973, evolving from a Scout team coached by Tony Pothecary. Starting with just one team, the club quickly expanded, adding three more teams that joined the Southampton & District Tyro League in the early 1980s.
Initially, we ran teams from U12 to U15, and by 1983 we welcomed U11 teams into the fold. In 1991, the U10 team was introduced, and by the year 2000, we proudly included U8 and U9 teams competing in the Eastleigh & District Mini Soccer and Waterside Mini Soccer Leagues.
In 2004, we reached a milestone by launching our first all-girls team in the New Forest Girls Football League, starting at U11 and progressing up to U15. As founding members of the NFGFL, promoting girls' football has always been a key part of our mission.
Our ever-popular Saturday morning Soccer School continues to thrive, providing football coaching to boys and girls aged 4 to 7 every week. We believe football is for everyone, regardless of ability, and in 2016 we formed our U12 and U16 PAN Disability teams, giving players with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy and grow in the game through the Hampshire FA & Saints Foundation PAN Disability Football League.
In 2023, we took another big step forward by forming a partnership with AFC Fawley and officially becoming AFC Fawley Falcons. This collaboration opens up fantastic progression opportunities for our players, from youth teams right through to U16, U18, and eventually into adult football.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about future developments, including plans for a new 4G facility in partnership with New Forest Academy, NFDC, and Hampshire FA, targeted for 2026/27.
As we celebrate over 50 years of football, we’re proud not only of our club’s legacy, but of every boy and girl who has worn the Fawley Falcons badge. AFC Fawley Falcons is more than just football—it’s a community, a support network, and a place where lifelong friendships are made.
